The Vuelta Master Ecuador is a one-of-a-kind cycling experience that will take you through some of the most breathtaking and diverse landscapes in the country. Over the course of 9 days, participants will ride from the lush Amazon rainforest to the majestic peaks of the Andes, facing challenges that will test both endurance and skill. This event is more than just a race—it’s a journey that blends the thrill of cycling with the rich culture and stunning natural beauty of Ecuador.

DAY 1

Welcome to Quito, the heart of the Andes! Today, you have the freedom to explore the city at your own pace. Quito is a city full of history and charm, with its colonial architecture and lively streets. We suggest arriving a few days early to acclimatize and get a feel for the altitude. If you’re up for it, you can also enjoy a guided tour or train in local facilities to prepare for the race. But don’t forget to relax and save your energy for the exciting days ahead!

Transfer to Puyo and Race Briefing

DAY 2

After breakfast, we’ll hit the road to Puyo, the gateway to the Amazon rainforest. Once there, we’ll gather for a race briefing where you’ll get all the essential information—your race number, competition chip, and instructions. It’s the perfect time to ask any last-minute questions and start building the excitement for the adventure that awaits!

Stage 1: Puyo Circuit

DAY 3

Time to ride! The first stage takes you deep into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. As you cycle through lush greenery, winding rivers, and spectacular waterfalls, you’ll feel the energy of the jungle all around you. The flat terrain is perfect for sprinters, but it’s the unique surroundings that will take your breath away. This is more than a race—it’s an immersion into one of the planet’s most biodiverse regions!

Stage 2: Puyo to Baños

DAY 4

This exhilarating race takes you from the lush Amazon rainforest up into the Andean foothills, where the scenery transforms dramatically. As you pedal through the ever-changing terrain, you’ll be surrounded by stunning views of towering waterfalls, deep gorges, and the majestic Tungurahua Volcano. The route’s diverse climate zones and challenging elevation changes make this race a true test of endurance and skill, culminating in the picturesque town of Baños, known for its rejuvenating hot springs and vibrant atmosphere.

Embark on an epic road cycling journey from Baños to Ambato, tackling some of Ecuador’s most challenging mountain terrain. Starting in the charming town of Baños, famous for its hot springs, the route takes you through the picturesque village of Cotaló, offering stunning views of the Tungurahua Volcano along the way. The climb is steep and demanding, pushing your endurance as you ascend through lush green valleys and rugged landscapes. After conquering the ascent, you’ll be rewarded with a thrilling descent into the vibrant city of Ambato. This route is a true test of strength and skill, combining breathtaking scenery with exhilarating climbs, making it a must-do for any avid cyclist.

Stage 4: Latacunga – Machachi

DAY 6

Embark on an unforgettable cycling journey from Latacunga to Machachi, traversing the legendary Avenue of the Volcanoes. This race takes you through one of the most scenic routes in Ecuador, with every pedal stroke offering panoramic views of the towering Ilinizas and the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano. The route winds through picturesque highlands, where the dramatic landscapes of the Andes unfold before you. The challenging elevation gains and sweeping descents make this race both demanding and exhilarating, as you ride through the heart of Ecuador’s volcanic corridor. Crossing valleys and ridges, you’ll feel the raw power of the Andes, culminating in Machachi, a gateway to some of the country’s most iconic peaks.

Cycle through the Ecuadorian Sierra from Cayambe to Ibarra, with breathtaking views of the Cayambe Volcano. Pass through picturesque landscapes with rose farms and traditional dairy farms. Visit Zuleta, an indigenous village known for its rich cultural heritage and beautiful embroidered textiles. The journey offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences, showcasing the diverse charm of Ecuador’s highlands.

Stage 6: Crono Escalada in Tulcán

DAY 8

It’s the final day of the race, and we’re going to give it our all! The Crono Escalada in Tulcán, hometown of Olympic gold medalist Richard Carapaz, is your last chance to push your limits on this challenging course. Ride through breathtaking landscapes and finish strong in a place known for producing some of the world’s best cyclists.

Afterward, we’ll celebrate your achievements with a social gathering. Then, it’s back to Quito for a well-deserved rest at the hotel.
