The Home operates under the institutional The Hogar del Niño “San Vicente de Paúl” is a non-profit organization that was established on February 23, 1876, and is managed by the Company of the Daughters of Charity. It is located in the province of Pichincha, specifically in the canton of Quito, in the Recoleta neighborhood. This home has facilities designed to provide high-quality care to children and adolescents, taking into account their stage of development and individual needs.
Foster care modality, as established by the Code of Children and Adolescents, as a temporary judicial protection measure. This means that the organization works in an organized manner and adapts its approach according to the circumstances of each case. Its services include three sub-modalities: legal clarification (adoption), family reintegration (nuclear or extended), and promotion of autonomy. These modalities make it possible to comply with the condition of temporariness and guarantee the right of children and adolescents to live in a family environment.
To ensure the protection of the rights of the 72 children and adolescents who are sheltered in this institution, the staff works full days. However, it is also essential to count on the collaboration of volunteers who contribute in a constant and disinterested way, giving their time and knowledge to help this vulnerable population mentioned above.
