After breakfast, we will be excited to start our Mindo day trip towards the Mindo Cloud Forest is located at 0 00′ 46” latitude in the cloud forests of northwestern Ecuador on the edge of the Choco bioregion, with approximately 22.000 hectares of primary forest and Set in the middle of the Ecuador Cloud Forest, it truly feels like a jungle paradise that is a small, walkable town.
After going all the way through the curvy road, we will stop at different viewpoints to enjoy the amazing scenery. You won’t likely be affected by the decrease in elevation, remember to drink plenty of water and limit caffeine and alcohol if you feel you need to adjust to higher altitudes.
After taking pictures, we will drive straight down to Mindo village inside this preserved area we can find a natural complex of 15 waterfalls, each one of them with a different height and beauty! It is among the most diverse places in the world, so keep an eye out for hummingbirds and tanagers, which may be perched on the branches of nearby trees.
Sharp and deeply forested mountains descending to gorges with rushing waterfalls and crystalline streams form the reserve. The views stretch far away to distant volcanoes.
Only two hours from Quito, Mindo Day Trip is the perfect place for adventure, relaxation, and discovery of a cloud forest’s birds and diversity of plant life. In this area, we will meet many mixed swarms of birds including tanagers, flycatchers, and several types of toucans.
Due to the fauna diversity, it will even be possible to see hummingbirds. The magical place of mist and mystery of Mindo has 170-recorded species of birds and the list continues to grow! After a full day excursion to this wonderful area, you will return in the evening to Quito.
