One of the aspects to consider when embarking on a trip is the sustainability of the destination. This translates to the importance of protecting nature and its surrounding environment. This action is known as ecotourism. However, for a place to have this characteristic, it must have a management plan, which is the result of collaborative work between people (communities) in order to maintain sustainability within a natural space.
In this case, the indigenous communities of the Ecuadorian Amazon have faced several challenges ranging from undergoing a transformation through the transglobalization of oil (1967) to the new current models (social, cultural, and technological). That, without a doubt, for our country marks a before and after to strengthen the activity of generating sustainable ecotourism.
