This trip takes you along the legendary Avenue of Volcanoes through the Ecuadorian Andes – a perfect combination of nature, culture and relaxed adventure. You start in Quito, the best-preserved colonial city in America, stroll through its historic streets and then cross the equator at the ‘Mitad del Mundo’. In the cloud forest of Mindo, you will experience waterfalls, butterflies and a delicious chocolate tour. Continue on to the famous indigenous market of Otavalo and the Cuicocha Lagoon before visiting Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. At the Quilotoa Lagoon, an emerald green crater lake, you will enjoy breathtaking views before continuing on to Baños de Agua Santa – the adventure capital. There you will find the spectacular waterfall route and the famous ‘Casa del Árbol’ swing. The next day, visit the Chimborazo Reserve – the point on Earth closest to space – and then Ecuador's most important Inca site, Ingapirca. Finally, discover the charming colonial city of Cuenca and hike in the mystical Cajas National Park before your journey ends in Guayaquil – the ‘Pearl of the Pacific’.
