Code of Ethics and Conduct

1. Preliminary

1.1. Message from General Management

At Responsible Travel, we understand that tourism can foster economic, environmental, and social sustainability. As an organization, we strive to contribute to building a society based on respect, integrity, honesty, and compliance with the law.

To achieve our goals, we rely on a team of employees committed to the future and to delivering the highest possible quality in every service we provide, in order to continue earning the trust of our clients, suppliers, and all individuals or institutions related to our activities.

Therefore, this Code has been developed to establish the parameters guiding the organization’s operations and our responsibilities toward all stakeholders. The purpose of this Code is to provide guidance in handling situations that may represent ethical and/or legal challenges in our daily work. It is essential that all Responsible Travel personnel, including senior management, read this Code and are fully aware that everyone’s commitment to compliance is fundamental to our long-term success.

1.2. Scope of Application

The Responsible Travel Code of Conduct applies to all employees of the organization. This includes board members, management staff, department heads, employees, and any person acting in an employee capacity.

Responsible Travel will not tolerate any actions that violate this Code of Conduct. Any breach will result in disciplinary action.

1.3. Institutional Values

This Code of Conduct is based on the following values, which form the ethical foundation that defines all our operations:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: At Responsible Travel, we strive to be part of the change rather than wait to adapt to it. We focus on taking action instead of merely talking.
  • Quality in What We Do: We work diligently to offer the best to our travelers, who entrust us with something as valuable as their vacation time. We ensure that we never disappoint our clients, always meeting and exceeding their expectations.
  • Passion: Our team loves what they do with all their hearts and is constantly learning to grow both professionally and personally.
  • Nothing Is Impossible: The only limits that exist are the ones you set for yourself—something clearly understood within our organization. Responsible Travel is characterized by resilient people who overcome any adversity.
  • Attention to Detail: Our business is built on attention to detail. We offer a service that must meet all customer requirements and demands great focus to avoid mistakes.
  • Innovation: Innovation implies change, which may not always be easy but is necessary to prevent stagnation and to continuously offer value to our clients.
  • Cost Awareness: Our company operates as a team that must be aware of cost realities to avoid harming the group. It is not only about saving but about spending wisely, always prioritizing the customer experience.
  • Willingness to Change: Tourism is constantly evolving—trends and customer preferences require that advisors and staff remain adaptable and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
  • Responsibility and Awareness: Our name reflects our essence—acting consciously with nature and society to achieve collective and harmonious progress.

3. Standards of Conduct

3.1. Conflicts of Interest

All employees must be familiar with the best practices of their respective fields, acting at all times with integrity and ethics.

A conflict of interest arises when any individual within the organization faces decisions involving direct or indirect personal benefits or advantages for third parties—or that could harm others.

No Responsible Travel employee may misuse their position, knowledge, confidential information, or company property for personal or third-party gain. Any situation that represents a conflict of interest must be reported to their immediate supervisor. If not, anyone in the organization may report it.

All employees’ actions must be focused on the benefit of Responsible Travel as a company. Any situation that could create a conflict between the company’s interests and personal benefit must be avoided. In case of doubt, employees should consult their supervisor.

3.2. Benefits, Gifts, Invitations, Sponsored Trips, and Other Courtesies

No member of Responsible Travel shall:

  • Receive gifts, monetary items, or favors from third parties that may influence decision-making or provide an unfair advantage in any process or activity carried out by Responsible Travel.
  • Offer gifts or incentives to any person, inside or outside the organization, to obtain personal benefits.
  • Use the name of Responsible Travel to gain unfair advantages or personal benefits outside the organization.
  • Only gifts and courtesies that fall within ethically sound business practices and legal limits may be accepted.

3.3. Anti-Corruption and Bribery

3.4. Unfair Competition

Responsible Travel supports fair and lawful competition and must comply with all competition laws intended to protect clients and competitors from unfair practices. Employees must avoid situations involving unfair price fixing, agreements with competitors to limit services, collusion, or boycotts—such as restricting employees or clients from using products or services not provided by Responsible Travel.

3.5. Money Laundering

This company shall not be used for money laundering. Any transaction that cannot be justified under local law must be rejected. All anti–money laundering laws and regulations must be fully observed.

All individuals at Responsible Travel must act to safeguard the environment and natural resources, remaining fully aware of the environmental, social, and economic impact of our activities. Every decision must aim to maintain balance and ensure the sustainability of resources for current and future generations. We must all demonstrate our commitment to the economic, environmental, and social development of our local communities and the destinations we serve.

All employees are required to comply with the norms and regulations outlined in our Sustainability Policy. Furthermore, senior management is responsible for ensuring, with the support of all employees, that a safe, responsible, and fair working environment is maintained.

3.7. Donations

In line with our commitment to sustainable development, Responsible Travel will make donations supporting educational, cultural, environmental, or fair-trade programs. All donations must be made with complete transparency, ensuring that both the recipient and the purpose of the donation are clearly identifiable.

3.8. Diversity and Non-Discrimination

Within our organizational culture, we believe that the diversity of our employees and clients is key to success. Therefore, we commit to ensuring that all our activities reflect Responsible Travel as a safe space where differences are celebrated and respected—regardless of race, gender, religion, origin, age, ideology, sexual orientation, or other factors.

All members of the organization must strictly comply with our Anti-Harassment and Non-Discrimination Policy.

3.9. Communication

As established in our Sustainability Policy and Communication Manual, all members of Responsible Travel must maintain clear and honest communication that transparently reflects our actions—both internally and externally. We also commit to keeping all stakeholders informed, even on sensitive issues, while ensuring that respect remains our highest priority.

Employees are responsible for using all communication tools responsibly and in compliance with local and international laws. They must also respect intellectual property rights and, when generating content under the organization’s name, follow the Internal Communication Manual and Brand Manual.

3.10. Use and Protection of the Organization’s Property

All employees of Responsible Travel are responsible for the proper use of the organization’s real estate, facilities, and those of partner companies when necessary.

All transactions are properly recorded in accordance with local regulations and internal policies. As an organization, we commit to maintaining the documentation necessary to ensure transparency in our activities. Any changes to manuals or internal regulations may only be made with authorization from General Management or the responsible parties for each activity.
