Continue to the Palacio Municipal, the Government Palace, and the Moorish clock tower “La Torre Morisca”, where a short climb rewards you with sweeping city and river views. Nearby, see La Rotonda, the monument commemorating the historic 1822 meeting between Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín. Finish in Las Peñas, the colorful historic quarter on Cerro Santa Ana. Climb its 444 steps past brightly painted wooden houses, bars, and small shops to reach the lighthouse and panoramic lookout.
