After breakfast, we begin our journey to the Mindo Cloud Forest, located on the edge of the Chocó bioregion. With over 22,000 hectares of primary forest, this destination feels like a true paradise. Just two hours from Quito, it offers an easy escape into nature and adventure. On the road, we take time to stop at scenic viewpoints, where the landscapes unfold dramatically. The descent brings a noticeable change in climate and vegetation, making the journey itself a unique experience. Once in Mindo, we discover its famous complex of 15 waterfalls, each with its own charm and beauty. Surrounded by lush biodiversity, the forest is alive with hummingbirds, tanagers, and other colorful species that thrive in this ecosystem. The reserve is a world of sharp green mountains, crystalline rivers, and misty gorges. From certain points, distant volcanoes can also be seen, adding even more grandeur to the views. Nature lovers and photographers find this place unforgettable. Home to over 170 bird species, Mindo is a magical land of mist, life, and discovery. After a day filled with waterfalls, wildlife, and cloud forest charm, we return to Quito in the evening with lasting memories.
